Brian Pierce

Chief Executive Officer

Brian Pierce is a technology industry veteran who has led and repeatedly built rapidly scaling businesses through dynamic, hands-on management. An experienced software executive with more than 20 years of technical, sales and operational experience, Brian has served as CEO since 2008. He leads the management team as the company continues to aggressively expand its product portfolio, revenue and market position, both organically and through acquisition.

Prior to Rogue Wave, Brian served as a Senior Vice President at Infor Global Solutions where he had responsibility for five independently operating business units with over $75M in revenue. He also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of TriSyn Group, an enterprise-class applications software company focused on the top 100 banks in the U.S. At TIBCO, Brian was Senior Vice President of Customer Satisfaction and Support, where he implemented a world-class global professional service and 24x7 support organization for a rapidly growing business. He was Vice President of Field Operations at InConcert, Inc., a Xerox Technology Venture company acquired by TIBCO in 1999. Brian started his career at Xerox where he spent 10 years in various technical, sales and management positions.

Brian's passion is working with high performance teams to deliver maximum value for customers, employees and stakeholders.

Frank Roe

Senior Vice President, Sales

Frank Roe is responsible for directing and managing Rogue Wave worldwide sales, services, and global alliances organizations. Frank is a seasoned sales executive with a track record of global success, extending the company's market leadership and momentum. His talents are in creating and coaching high-performing sales teams, building sales operations, measuring sales impact, and working across channels and geographies. Most recently, Frank served as senior vice-president of global sales at RSD, where he led the company to achieve record revenues, developed its go-to-market channel strategy, and directed the global expansion. Previously, Frank held executive positions at Progress Software, Incentive Systems, Deloitte, and Accenture. Frank earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Management.

Ian McLeod

Chief Product Officer

With a passion for the software tools industry, Ian McLeod heads our product management team, overseeing strategy, pricing, packaging and go-to-market for our product portfolio. Ian has over 20 years experience in product management and engineering leadership roles, most recently as EVP and Chief Product Officer for SmartBear Software, where he led the product management, product development, and support teams and was part of the executive team that drove five-fold revenue growth in five years.   Earlier in his career Ian served in senior management roles at PHT Corporation,  Segue Software (acquired by Borland), Rational Software (acquired by IBM) and GTE Internetworking.   Ian started his career at GE as part of the Edison Engineering Program, where he earned his master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute , after earning a bachelor’s degree at Lehigh University. 

Rod Cope

Chief Technology Officer

Rod Cope drives Rogue Wave technology vision and heads the product management organization. Rod has over 20 years of experience in software development spanning a number of industries including telecommunications, aerospace, healthcare, and manufacturing. Rod was the founder and CTO of OpenLogic, a profitable venture-backed company, and joined Rogue Wave as CTO following the acquisition. At OpenLogic, Rod designed and architected the SaaS-based scanning technology, seeing the enterprise need to embrace and govern open source as enterprises continue to adopt OSS in large scale. Prior to OpenLogic, he provided technical leadership on significant projects for companies such as IBM, Anthem, and Ericsson. Rod holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Software Engineering from the University of Louisville.

Christine Bottagaro

Chief Marketing Officer

Christine Bottagaro leads the marketing organization at Rogue Wave, driving messaging and positioning, go-to-market campaigns, and sales enablement. Christine has 20 years of experience in developing marketing strategies and leading global growth for technology companies. Christine previously held senior marketing roles at Sybase, SAP, and Rally Software. In those organizations, she led comprehensive marketing initiatives for enterprise software spanning product marketing, corporate marketing, integrated go-to-market campaigns, customer reference programs, sales enablement, content direction, through building and managing high-performing teams. Christine holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado, and an MBA from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

Ted Smith

Vice President, Engineering, and Chief Information Officer

Ted Smith is responsible for leading the development organization and IT, as well as compliance for Information Security and Business Continuity for Rogue Wave. Ted has more than 30 years of experience in technology, product development and data center operations, spanning telecommunications, outsourcing, environmental sustainability, and enterprise application integration. Prior to joining Rogue Wave, Ted was Vice President of Product Development at IHS. Prior to that, he held positions as Project Executive at IBM, business unit CIO at US WEST, and Partner at BizTek Intl. Ted has a Bachelor of Arts from Metropolitan State University and a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Denver, is a PMP, CSM, CSPO, and is certified in TQM.

Peter Bennfors

Chief Financial Officer

Peter runs our finance and accounting teams, including overseeing financial planning, banking, reporting and analysis, tax, compliance and overall corporate financing efforts. Prior to joining Rogue Wave, Peter held senior finance roles with Misys, Asset Control and most recently, SRSsoft. In addition to running corporate finance, Peter has also managed sales operations, human resources, audit and IT aspects. Peter’s strong track record of enabling organizational success is through building excellent teams and practices. Peter received a BSc in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Buckingham, England, and is a Chartered Accountant, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
