The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) operates the largest state-built multipurpose project in the United States. The agency is moving from application silos to the SOA paradigm where IT functionality can be shared within the entire enterprise. DWR chose to combine best-of-breed products into a comprehensive SOA Platform: JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform; Akana Policy Manager for registry/repository, policy management, consumer contract provision, and lifecycle management; and Akana Network Director for service virtualization.
