Healthcare is going through a digital transformation. Healthcare records are increasingly becoming digitized to ensure that patients’ electronic health records (EHR) are available, discoverable and understandable as people move around the healthcare eco-system.  As the volume and types of health-related information increases, how we interact with this data becomes more even more important.

To support this growing need to represent meaningful use data, HL7 along with its community members released the first Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) standard in 2012. FHIR defines a set of resources that are self-describing, discrete chunks of data with defined behavior and meaning that can be used individually or in bundles. FHIR also defines an API in order interact with the resources. The FHIR specification is open and free for all to use.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • What FHIR i and where it came from.
  • Why FHIR is important to healthcare interoperability.
  • The key technical aspects of FHIR.
  • What it takes to build the next generation platform for healthcare interoperability.
  • How to get involved.
