Zeev Suraski, Samantha Quiñones, Matthew Weier O'Phinney, and Justin Reock to speak
Rogue Wave Software has selected a robust group of industry pundits to speak at ZendCon 2017: Zeev Suraski, Samantha Quiñones, Matthew Weier O'Phinney, and Justin Reock. A practitioner-focused event, these four experienced speakers will lead a group of over 40 speakers during the enterprise PHP and open source conference in Las Vegas, October 23-26 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
A renowed speaker, polyglot hacker, and currently the wrangler of engineers at Etsy, Samantha Quiñones will bring her unique perspective to the large stage. Recognized by the Huffington Post as one of the top Latin Americans in Media, and a 2015 recipient of the DCFT Powerful Female Programmers Award, Quiñones sets the bar high for what ZendCon attendees can expect.
Joining Quiñones at ZendCon 2017 are PHP legends Zeev Suraski and Matthew Weier O'Phinney.
One of the principle authors of PHP and the cofounder of Zend, Suraski brings 20 years of contributions to the PHP community. Currently the CTO and VP of engineering at Rogue Wave Software, leading the Zend research and development teams, Suraski will deliver his keynote on how PHP changes lives.
“The big, diverse and remarkably active community brought PHP to all corners of our planet,” says Suraski. “My keynote will focus on the impact PHP has made on the world as a key technology enabler for the modern Web. I'm excited to not only be speaking, but also to be meeting with countless people from the community, who help make PHP what it is.”
Weier O'Phinney, PHP framework and open source expert, will add to the lineup with his in-depth knowledge. Weier O'Phinney is the project lead for the Zend Framework, Apigility, and Expressive projects. He's responsible for architecture, planning, and community engagement for each project.
Rounding out the list of keynote speakers is outspoken free software evangelist and enthusiast, Justin Reock. With over 20 years of experience working in various software roles, including development, databases, integration work, quality, training, and technical leadership, Reock is the lead architect and director of Rogue Wave Open Source Support, helping businesses support and adopt OSS, mitigate risks, and expand the utilization of OSS within their projects.
