Rogue Wave to unveil improved dynamic analysis tools at SC16
ARM support drives high performance debugging
Rogue Wave Software announces new releases of the dynamic analysis tools TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics. Both releases, which will be unveiled next week at SC16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, improve the diagnosis and correction of bugs, memory issues, and crashes at execution.
Support for Linux 64-bit ARM®v8-A architecture is new to TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics. This support brings a new level of insight and triage for ARM environments, including memory debugging with MemoryScape, and access to the new TotalView user interface.
“ARM continues to expand the ecosystem for the high-performance computing space,” said Eric Van Hensbergen, director of HPC, ARM. “ARM strives to enable highly-integrated, energy-efficient solutions and with TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics, customers using ARM platforms have a robust, scalable dynamic analysis solution for their complex HPC clusters and codes.”
For the early access release, Rogue Wave tested this feature on Cavium's 64-bit ARM processor, running Ubuntu 14.04 and NVIDIA's Jetson TX1 running Ubuntu 16.04.
“Rogue Wave TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics delivers an outstanding high performance debugging experience to the most demanding software developers,” said Larry Wikelius, vice president of the Software Ecosystem and Solutions Group at Cavium, Inc. “Support for TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics on Cavium's ARMv8 processor family is a key addition to our overall software ecosystem and will help accelerate end user development and solution deployment.”
The new releases, versions 2016.07, also include overall enhancements, platform updates, and improved support for operating systems and compilers. The new releases provide improved support for CUDA 8, macOS Sierra, and Xeon Phi.
“Whether a scientific and technical computing veteran, or new to the development challenges of multicore or parallel applications, TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics for enterprises allows users the insight to find and correct errors quickly, validate prototypes early, verify calculations accurately and above all, certify code correctly,” said Marty Bakal, principal product manager at Rogue Wave Software. “The new releases of TotalView for HPC and CodeDynamics advance our commitment to improving code quality and shortening cycle times.”
Rogue Wave will be demonstrating TotalView HPC and CodeDynamics at SC16 in booth 2425. Visit the event page to learn more.
