Rogue Wave Software partners with TZ Consulting in Germany to help companies develop more secure software code
Rogue Wave Software a global provider of software development tools, and Germany's TZ Consulting announce they will partner to provide solutions that allow companies across the German region to safely use open source code in their software development processes. The alliance between the companies brings together the comprehensive Rogue Wave open source governing platform, and TZ Consulting's longstanding experience in protecting start-up businesses from unintended financial risk.
“Companies today want to leverage open source code because it can quickly provide functionality to their software applications, but they also need to feel confident that using it will not negatively impact their business,” said David McLoughlin, director of open source auditing for Rogue Wave. “Our partnership with TZ Consulting will help us make code confidence available to more companies– a huge benefit for smaller and mid-size organizations that might not know where to start when it comes to securing their code.”
Recent studies by Rogue Wave and TZ Consulting show that software security is a priority for nearly 90 percent of companies, and that up to 80 percent of the code they're using is from open source code bases and not developed in-house. OpenLogic is the Rogue Wave platform used throughout financial services, automotive, and medical device manufacturing to identify technical issues, licensing models, and security flaws in code developed using virtually any common open source packages.
According to Thorsten Zenker, co-CEO of TZ Consulting, “Our mission is to protect venture capital investments by removing some of the risks of developing software in today's security-conscious world. We are confident that by providing our customers with our expert guidance, along with the foundational support of OpenLogic, we can remove a great deal of uncertainty from their internal processes.”
Companies who develop software that is embedded in hardware devices, such as automobile infotainment systems and medical scanning machines can get a one-on-one demonstration of OpenLogic, or see live presentations of the technology in action at the upcoming Embedded World Exhibition and Conference, February 24-26 in Nuremburg, Germany.
