Stingray 11.0 Features:
NEW Most Recently Used (MRU) Panel
This feature displays a panel in the ribbon bar, entitled "Recent". The controls to be displayed in this panel are determined based on user behavior, specifically how recently and frequently the user has used particular controls.
NEW Multi-column vertical toolbars in the FoundationEx Library
ENHANCED Visual style management in the FoundationEx Library
This enhancement adds many new classes for managing visual styles corresponding to various versions of Office, Visual Studio, and Windows.
NEW Natural sort
This new Objective Grid algorithm allows the sorting of row and column data using a natural sort algorithm. With a few lines of code, data may now be sorted as "human-readable" — as a human would expect the data to be sorted.
NEW Graphic sets of Objective Views symbols
This addition of new graphic sets expands the set of symbols available in Objective Views to include:
- Electrical symbols
- Maps and floor plan symbols
- Flowchart symbols
- Network and peripheral symbols
NEW Combined Visual Studio and Stingray Studio command-prompt environment tool
This simple yet effective command-line tool is being shipped with this release. The vs.bat file located in the <stingray_installdir>\Src directory easily sets up your development environment as a separate session for each supported MSVS compiler as well as various versions of Stingray Studio. The simple command line parameters allow you to create shortcuts to multiple compilers for multiple versions of Stingray Studio. For more detailed information on the usage of this tool, simply go to <stingray_installdir>\Src in a command line session and type vs or vs.bat.
REINTRODUCING Objective Grid for Microsoft .NET
Objective Grid for Microsoft .NET is being reintroduced into the Stingray product line. This .NET product has been ported to work with MSVS 2005, MSVS 2008, and MSVS 2010.
Objective Grid for Microsoft .NET also allows the side-by-side build and execution of this product’s assemblies with multiple compilers on a single development machine. Multiple samples and tutorials help the developer quickly get up-to-speed on the design, implementation and deployment of this reintroduced .NET product.
Stingray 10.4 Features:
- Supports Visual Studio 2010
- Windows 7 Jump Lists: provide improved functionality for your taskbar and start menu shortcuts. With jump lists, users can go directly to documents, common functions, recently visited reports or web sites.
- Restart Manager: offers users recovery options in the event of an application crash.
Ease of Migration to MFC 9 Feature Pack and higher
The Microsoft MFC Feature Pack is not built on top of MFC; it is a separate package. As a result, there is some migration effort for existing MFC and Stingray developers who want to use it directly. The Stingray FoundationEx classes are designed to support these new capabilities and make this migration easier than using MFC with the MFC Feature Pack. Keep the same intuitive API while taking advantage of new MFC Feature Pack functionality.
