Recent statistics about automobile cybersecurity are disconcerting, both for the automotive supply chain and for the consumer. Media attention has highlighted numerous security and safety issues for the connected car. But as sensational as some of these headlines are, the problem is real.

The Ponemon Institute recently conducted a cybersecurity survey sponsored by Rogue Wave Software and Security Innovation of over 500 automotive developers, engineers, and executives, primarily from car makers  and their largest technology suppliers.

  • 57% Doubt that automotive software development teams have the skills necessary to combat software security threats
  • 51% Consider security an add-on feature, rather than integrating it into the software development lifecycle
  • 90% Think that it is difficult to secure automotive applications

Join Walter Capitani, Product Manager from Rogue Wave Software, Pete Samson, Senior VP from Security Innovation, and Larry Ponemon, Ponemon Institute, as they discuss the challenges facing the automakers on the journey toward automotive application security.
