Rogue Wave® HydraExpress 4.6 adds platform support

August 30, 2010 — HydraExpress, formerly named LEIF, is a framework for developing and hosting C++ Web Services including advanced XML, SOAP and WSDL. HydraExpress provides productivity tools for transforming new and existing C++ applications for use in Service Oriented Architectures.

Message formats in HydraExpress are based on the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). HydraExpress developers simply supply a standard Web Services Description Language (WSDL) file and HydraExpress automatically generates a skeleton service that handles the details of protocols, standards and networking to ensure interoperability. Developers then drop in new or existing C++ business logic to create a ready-to-deploy service that can be used in many types of SOA applications.

HydraExpress 4.6 contains a number of bug fixes and enhancements, including some critical patches to customers since version 4.0. Additional features include:

  • Platform updates to support newer operating systems and compilers. HydraExpress 4.6 now supports Windows, Solaris, Linux, AIX and HP-UX
  • HydraExpress 4.6 is certified against SourcePro 11
  • All product documentation, including all examples, have been updated and improved
